Presenting Dr. Maria Sophocles, author and world renowned female sexual health expert “The Bedroom Gap”
Author of The Bedroom Gap and world-renowned female sexual health expert joins us for this special event Bridging the Bedroom Gap, an honest, engaging conversation about understanding and reclaiming sexual health in midlife. Aging as a woman today can feel overwhelming. Many of us strive to stay healthy, vital, active, and confident while navigating the often confusing and unpredictable hormonal shifts of perimenopause and menopause.
Dr. Maria Sophocles brings clarity, humor, and real science to a topic that is rarely discussed openly. A nationally recognized menopause and sexual health expert, she is a dynamic speaker and passionate advocate for women’s health. Through storytelling, education, and audience engagement, Dr. Sophocles will help illuminate the why and how behind symptoms such as mood swings, fragmented sleep, changes in desire, and the emotional rollercoaster so many women experience. This evening is designed to be inclusive, supportive, and real. Confusion, frustration, tears, rage, apathy — all emotions and all hormonal versions are welcome. Come prepared to listen, laugh, share your stories if you choose, and ask the questions you’ve been holding onto. You’ll leave feeling informed, validated, and empowered — with practical insights and a renewed sense of confidence in your body and your journey.

About The Bedroom Gap

Sex in midlife can be a bumpy road, especially for women. Our bodies change with age, and those changes can lead to shame, confusion, and loss of intimacy. The Bedroom Gap shows us how society developed destined-to-fail gender roles and expectations in the bedroom and makes clear how we can level the playing field between midlife men and women.
This path breaking yet easily accessible guide not only clarifies the physical changes of menopause and how they affect sex in midlife, it also details how we can treat those changes, reframe our views on pleasure and desire, narrow the discrepancy in sexual functioning between middle-aged men and women, and optimize sexual pleasure after 40.
